RACING AT THREE RIVERS RADIO YACHTING CLUB

The Three Rivers Radio Yachting Club sails on Sunday mornings and on Friday afternoons throughout the year and everyone is welcome to come along and join us for some exciting and competitive racing.  If you haven't got a boat, don't worry, we pride ourselves on being a friendly club so come down and try your hand with a few boats before committing yourself.

Sunday racing usually starts at 10.00 am and finishes around 12.30 pm.  Races are organised in heats with breaks between for chats, coffee and tuning your boat.  Two classes of yachts are sailed; International One Metre (IOM) and Radio Marblehead (RM).  Skippers take turns to be the observer (Referee) and all racing is conducted in accordance with the standard racing rules.

Friday sailing usually starts at 12.30 pm and finishes around 2.45 pm.  Racing is similar to Sundays but only IOM yachts are sailed.  After sailing most skippers retire to a local golf club for coffee and a chat.

The Model Yachting Association recommends that you do not purchase a boat or radio equipment before visiting your local radio control yacht club.  If you decide to come down to our lake you can be assured of a warm welcome.  We look forward to meeting you.

As a guide to the events held at Three Rivers RYC we have posted a copy of the Sunday Club Racing Programme for 2008.  You can see that there is a good spread of events for both (IOM) yachts and (RM) yachts.

Inter-club competitions are popular and give skippers the opportunity to experience new sailing waters, test their skills and meet new colleagues.
